Hola!
Welcome to the 2nd edition of #MicroMondays. We had quite the blast with the first ever edition – with the prompt ‘I AM CURIOUS TOO‘ inspiring participants to write about cats and mice, tarrot card readers and people planning to dash headlong into caves and woods and marriages 😛
This week’s prompt has been taken from the 33rd page of PENANCE by Kanae Minato.
The word count for this week is the sum of today’s date (23+10) = 33
The prompt is.
BUT THERE WAS A CRIMINAL

My Entry: The Complete Picture
“Your infatuation blinds you from seeing the truth.”
Holmes ignored Watson’s remark.
“But there was a criminal.”
Watson never saw the complete picture.
Holmes sighed.
Miss Adler fascinated him.
She held the key.
Ha! A Sherlock Holmes fan fic and Watson blinded by love! Simple yet effective take on the prompt.

In 33 words, you have built an entire gripping story. Good one Varad!

Thanks FP. These tiny microfiction challenges are the most difficult ones to write. You have absolutely no wiggle room. That’s the main reason behind #MicroMondays.

Sherlock Holmes…. my favourite since childhood! Me and my brother would spend many holidays as Mr Holmes and Dr Watson!
Loved your take Varad.
Thanks for the interesting prompt this time as well!

Thanks for adding my link. I didn’t even remember to do it. It was 2 am!
I never followed Sherlock so I always read those references at least twice.

Absolutely no worries, Corina. I haven’t bothered much with the Benedict Cumberbatch series or the ones before it. I’m more of a book guy – It was The Hound of the Baskervilles that made me a Holmes fan nearly 25 years ago. Arthur Conan Doyle’s works are incredible, to say the least.

Watson always had trouble when it came to seeing the complete picture. Thanks for the prompt! I’ll try to come up with a 33 word story!
