‘
I was born here, in this very castle. They named me under this domed roof. I used to play hide and seek in the hidden corridors behind the alcoves. I fell in love under this roof, married and made love to my beloved, welcomed our first child… so many good memories.’ He smiled wryly, ‘It was under this roof that my wife and child were slaughtered before my very eyes. I swore bloody vengeance before they slit my throat.’
