‘It’s all about your core and balance,’ Ralph murmurs. ‘Parkour is tapping into the courage you didn’t know you had.’

His voice was mesmeric and I nod eagerly, eventhough I knew everything he just said. Heck, I have said the same things before.

‘I know you can make the jump, Mikey!’ Ralph steps closer to me on the ledge. ‘C’mon, you can do it.’

I’ve heard these exact words before.

He places a hand on my back.

In fact, I had said the same things to Ralph on that fateful night.

‘Jump, or I’ll push!’

I turn to see black eyes…

  1. I guess we know what black eyes mean. A vengeful ghost is at work. Mikey’s first mistake was getting too close to the edge. I hope he uses common sense before he goes over. A good story, Varad. —- Suzanne

  2. If Ralph can, so can Mikey. Did Ralph come back alive after the jump? Or is ti Mikey’s subconscious that is goading him?

  3. Excellent story. Thanks for prompting me to look up parkour in Wikipedia. It would seem that Mikey violated the whole ethos of the art by encouraging Ralph to go beyond his limits. Great story of the supernatural – or possibly psychological imbalance prompted by guilt on Mikey’s part.

  4. I think Ralph’s ghost is haunting him. I don’t see much of a future for him. And with Parkour I learned something new.
