One more time – #FFfAW124

I trudge along the muddy path carrying my beloved’s corpse. The stone steps cut across the grassy slope are all that stands between me and my destination.

I look at her – drenched in blood, her throat slit open. I break down in anguish. Why did she have to die? And violently? The moon peeps from behind the clouds and bathes her face with an ethereal glow. She looks so beautiful and so very dead.

Not for long! Not if I can do something about it!

I climb up the stairs and reach the abandoned cemetery.

I lay her into the muddy confines of a shallow grave and shovel dirt in, muttering a prayer. I sit down near her temporary resting place and begin my wait.

What went wrong? We were so desperately in love with each other.

The clock strikes midnight. The grave starts to rumble. I smile in anticipation.

A slender hand appears through the earth.

Why did she cheat on me with Paolo?

I crunch my shotgun ready.

Killing her once wasn’t enough.

    1. Thanks a lot for your kind words, Neel. I just hope he doesn’t find a way to bring her back to life for a third time. Cheers, Varad

  1. Oh! I did not see that coming. I couldn’t help but laugh. You smoothly led me down one path and then took a hard left turn. Cleverly written! I really enjoyed this.

  2. The end surprised me , Varad. I thought she would be revived with voodoo, black magic etc. Cheating in a marriage cannot be tolerated by the affected spouse. The first sentence shocks the readers.

    1. She did get revived, only he was waiting to kill her again. He apparently loved her too much that turned into hate after her betrayal. That’s his justification anyway. Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Varad
